Well, today’s work for me will consist of going to see The Peanuts Movie… and any work day that involves 3-D glasses and a bucket of popcorn is a good one.

A few quick notes:

• One thing I find interesting about those two Scholastic Books Peanuts deals I mentioned the other day is that they are technically two different properties – one is a The Peanuts Movie item, the other is a traditionally Snoopy item, which would be a separate license.
• There’s a TV ad running for Target which has the Peanuts characters reacting to a variety of people and other characters as some sort of tryout, including a couple of Family Guy characters (never seen in the same shot as the Peanuts characters, which is something we’ve seen in other ads. I find that interesting – not out of any general interest in Family Guy, which is not to my taste, but because it’s not the first time we’ve seen that unlikely combination, as Stewie and Charlie Brown were in a Coke ad together (with Underdog) in Thanksgiving Day balloon form.
• Target has another set of Christmas ads that features a lot of different property characters together (Minions, The Lego Movie, Barbie, Elmo, etc.) and that tellingly doesn’t have Peanuts. Again, the Peanuts characters do not tend to play with others.
• And for those of you who want to see the AAUGH.com Reference Library in action, here’s a screenshot from the documentary featurette on the DVD of Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (and Don’t Look Back). In the background, those bookshelves with books? That’s a portion of the reference library. Exciting, eh? (And doesn’t the camera just love me at every moment?)
