Coming in October is The Peanuts 1970’s Collection Volume 1, which continues the sequential release of the Peanuts specials (as well as the inappropriate use of an apostrophe in the title.) This set has two disks with half a dozen specials, including two that have never been on DVD before (Play It Again, Charlie Brown and It’s A Mystery, Charlie Brown) along with four that have (You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, It’s The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, and There’s No Time for Love, Charlie Brown), plus a featurette on Woodstock. The price is a good price for six specials, less good if you already own most of them.

If you need something to round out your order and get it above the $25 free shipping, remember that I Want A Dog For Christmas ships this coming month — and since that’s a release from this century, it won’t soon (if ever) be covered in the decade sets.

Also, I do recommend ordering now, not because it won’t be available later, but because of the pre-order price guarantee. If the price changes between now and when the product ships, you get the lowest price along the way. I just got a few bucks back on the copy of the new Mac OS X upgrade – I was happy to pay the price I was quoted, but happier to get some money back. In fact, I made out better than if I’d been quoted the low price all along, because the lower price is actually less than the threshold for free shipping, but I got free shipping anyway.
