Peanuts Treasury and other discounts

Normally I steer folks to Amazon for the books as they have the most stuff, but Barnes & Noble (who, yes, also give me a kickback) is running a sale (cutting about an additional 10% off most prices) and has a few things that can’t be found at Amazon. BN exclusives on Peanuts stuff include:

Now, if you’re starting to gather presents for the coming holiday season, there are  some particularly good deals on Marvel comics hardcovers –  collecting runs of comic books, cover prices of about $20-$25, and they have them for $6.28 apiece. And my experience with these B&N Marvel discount items is that, unlike most “remaindered” books, they don’t have remaindered book markings – no mark on the price or on the bottom edge of the book. The books are actually shrinkwrapped, and the discount price sticker on the outside of the shrink wrap is easy to remove. So you can get a cheap gift that doesn’t look so cheap. Free shipping hits with a $25 purchase. (For those of you not used to modern superhero comics, I should warn that they are not all as all-ages appropriate as you might assume.)

  • Ultimate Iron Man – list $19.99 (written by science fiction author Orson Scott Card)
  • Red Prophet vol1 and vol2 – list $19.99 (adapting work by Orson Scott Card)
  • Spider-Man: One More Day – list $24.99 (written by Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski)
  • Silver Surfer: Requiem – list $19.99 (also Straczynski)
  • Supreme Power vol1 and vol2 – list $29.99 (note: these are $7.18 – but the first reprints 12 issues, so it’s quite a bargain. More Strczynski )

Campaign Peanuts redux

I don’t normally just repost my blog entries… but this one seems as relevant now as when I first posted it in 2019. Only the word “many” seems dated. Of the many presidential candidates, I think Schulz only mentioned one in Peanuts. which isn’t to say that you can’t find …

I suspect that’s not Schulz

The only thing I have to say about this ad from 1967 is “no”.   40 SHARES Share Tweet this thing Follow the AAUGH Blog
