This week brings the annual San Diego Comic-Con, the annual madhouse of joyous geekdom. And if you’re wondering whether you should go – don’t. It’s too late. They’ve already sold out of all tickets for all days, and won’t be selling more at the door. So if you don’t have tickets, you’re outta luck.

For those of you who have your tickets – well, wave “hi” to me if you see me, but I won’t have a booth this year and thus will be hard to find. But if you’re looking for Peanutsy things to do there, it’s not a particularly strong year for Peanuts-related panels, with no Peanuts-specific panels and only a few tangentially-related panels. (Thursday 10:30-11:30 is Motion Comics: Graphic Novels in The Digital Age, which is presented by Warner Premier, who animate up Peanuts strips but the focus in this crowd is likely to be more on things like Watchmen and Batman; Friday 1:30-2:30 is the Comic Strip Reprints Revolution panel, including representatives from a number of strip-reprinting publishers, such as Complete Peanuts publishers Fantagraphics; Saturday 3:00-4:00 is a Spotlight on Seth, who designs The Complete Peanuts but this will hopefully focus more on his own cartooning) However, there will be a Peanuts booth (booth 1537), and as usual they will have some convention-exclusive products. There’s three t-shirts, some lanyards, and an astronaut Snoopy figurine

.I suspect that next year will have some Peanuts-centric panels, with it being the 60th anniversary of Peanuts and all that. And if you want to go next year… start planning now!
