Be Kind, Be Brave, Be You beview… er, review

New releases

On the market as of last week is Be Kind, Be Brave, Be You, a board book which is made up of three upbeat-positivity-type poems by Elizabeth Dennis Barton, with Peanuts illustrations by Scott Jerald. I actually found this one reasonably charming – I could see reading this to my kids when they were of the right smallness. (It’s not as great as the Sandra Boynton books that I so frequently read them at the time, but few things are.) There are 11 two-page spreads for the story. I particularly like the art in the spread where Charlie Brown is dancing with various young ladies.

If you need a Peanuts board book, this is a good pick!

The Snoopy volume uses Snoopy images from just about anywhere: strips (appropriately licensed), animation, photos, The Peanuts Movie publicity materials. And the simple facts it …
