The next book in my recent shipment from Japan, Fun English with Snoopy, is (obviously) another English language textbook. This one is a workbook populated by strips from 1990 and 1991, with sections for students to demonstrate their English comprehension by translating the strip’s text into Japanese, as well as answering questions about the strips (written in English), as well as non-strip material for translating Japanese into English. The book comes with a CD, which I was disappointed (as a person seeking Peanuts stuff, not as someone seeking to use the book for its intended purpose) to find didn’t contain any of the Peanuts text, but was presenting oral material for students to transcribe for various sections of the workbook. This is a 2012 book, cover-priced at 2000 yen. My favorite thing about it? The section titles are quotes from the strip, so you have sections like “I don’t want to get hit in the stomach with the ball”, “Being in love with two different girls can make you do strange things”, and “It is often seen in persons with sedentary jobs”.
