Not that Charlie Brown times 2

There’s a section of the AAUGH.com reference library dedicated to books that have the name Charlie Brown in the title but are not referring to that Charlie Brown. It’s a very small section, with only two or three books in it.

And lately, there’s been a category of AAUGH Blog posts warning you about expensive books that are mere print-on-demand compilations of Wikipedia articles.

Well, now we have an entry for both categories. Charlie Brown (Baseball) by Carleton Olegario Máximo is described as

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Charles Edward Brown was a professional baseball pitcher. He started four games for the Cleveland Spiders of Major League Baseball in 1897, with one win and two losses. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada, consisting of teams that play in the National League and the American League. The two leagues merged in 2000 into a single MLB organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball after 100 years as separate legal entities.

So, what great insight does this book have about the illustrious Mr. Brown? Well, you can check the Wikipedia entry for yourself; don’t ask yourself if you have the time, because the text is only two sentences long… both of which are included in the description you just read! Yeah, this sounds like $88 that would be well spent…

Also coming up is a book on Delaware Auto Racing, with a foreword by not-that-Charlie Brown… actually I’m pretty sure it’s also not the baseballer who died in 1938.
