August is looking to be a busy month for Peanuts book releases; in addition to the It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown: Leaf Globe and Snoopy Loves to Doodle: Create and Complete Pictures with the Peanuts Gang, we now have not one but two editions of Happiness is a Warm Puppy, both coming from Cider Mill Press (the same folks who reprinted the various books in this series individually, then as a boxed set, then all bound into a single volume), both getting an early jump on next year’s 50th anniversary of this vital work. This time around, they’re offering a $12.95 deluxe edition, which is a hardcover about 8 inches square (the traditional edition was 5 inches), and a $6.95 “Seedling Edition”, which is also hardcover but only about 3″ square.
