Born to Draw Comics cover

Upcoming releases

So now we have a cover for Born to Draw Comics, a September-shipping book on “Charles Schulz and the creation of Peanuts”. The book’s descriptor says that this is a “mixed-panel format picture book biography”, which leads me to think that it’s mostly but not completely in the comics form. If so, I’m a little uncomfortable with the cover crediting of it with Ginger Wadsworth as the author, “illustrated by Craig Orback”. In comics, we generally consider the artist to be at least an equal contributor to the work, so “by Ginger and Craig” would be fine, or “written by Ginger, with art by Craig” would be fine. Just giving him the “illustrated by” makes it sound like the art is secondary and tacked on. But I will be interest to see what they do with it!
