Foreign Kindle editions

ItalianOne of the interesting things about ebooks is that they break down one of the two barriers to international distribution – an ebook generally costs nothing to send across national lines. (The other limitation is contractual; book contracts often limit the territories in which a book can be sold.) We’re seeing that with Peanuts e-books. So you can get such books as the Italian strip collection Fortunatamente studio un pezzo per cui posso suonare intorno al suo naso! or the German edition of the fifth volume of the Peanuts comic book stories (hey, that’s got some of my work in it!) There used to be US editions of Peanuts books in foreign languages mainly for students who were learning the language; I suppose this could meet that same goal.
