Peanuts the Movie the Comic Book

Coming next August is Peanuts Movie OGN. Now, for those of you not used to the terminology of the comics business, OGN is short for Original Graphic Novel, a thick comic book that is not just a collection of thinner comic book. So this is a comic book based on a movie based on a comic strip. If it keeps that schedule, it will be out months before the movie itself, so slap a Spoiler Warning sticker on the front of that. It’s published by KaBOOM!, the same folks who put out the Peanuts comic books and a couple other Peanuts OGNs.

This looks to be the first volley of what I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more of, Peanuts books based around the movie. And that’s just part of what’s looking like a huge year for Peanuts books next year. The upcoming book list already has 20 books for 2015… and that’s not including the last three months of the year. And there are other books not yet on the list that we can assume will show up, like volume 6 of the comic book collections, volume 3 of Peanuts Every Sunday, and so forth. The combination of the movie, the 65th anniversary of the strip, and the 50th anniversary of A Charlie Brown Christmas makes for quite a combination!
