A book adaptation of A Charlie Brown Christmas as the world requested

New releases

Fall is here, the kids are back in school, and right on schedule, the first new book edition of A Charlie Brown Christmas is out! This one comes packaged in a little box with a snow globe – it’s not one of those big fancy snow globes you want to display in your window, but I could see having this on the computer in your cubicle at work.

The book is a little 2.5″ x 3″ copy of the adaptation that Running Press has been using for their larger-format books in recent years, rather than the adaptation used in previous miniature editions. (So that means yes, this is an edition that has Peppermint Patty, even on the cover, despite her not being in the classic TV special.)

How many new editions will we see this year? Last year, we were just one away from tying the all-time record of 4. I know that this is not the last entry I’ll be writing this year, but I’m not sure how many more will come.

It looks like Amazon is out of stock of them at the moment, but hopes to get them back in stock.

(Of course, if you want to know about the dozens of print editions of A Charlie Brown Christmas, I’ve got a guide for that!)

Peanuts books all a-board!

The mail brought two new Peanuts board books this week, and the web offered up images of another, so I guess that’s the theme for the day. Cheering You On, Charlie Brown looks first at how Charlie Brown has a lot of difficulty in life, but then at how he …

Shiny edges

So I got the new board book edition of It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown. And, well, it is what it is, a board book edition of a previously-published adaptation. I’m not sure full episode adaptations are absolutely ripe for board books, simply because they’re too long, too much text, for …
