Some answers on the board books

Here is a look at the third Wendy’s book (in order of finding, not in the order of them being issued), courtesy of AAUGH Blog reader Bill:

It is copyright 2011, and it does credit Peanuts ownership to United Feature Syndicate. The UFS credit and the simpler bag design – no translation of the title into other languages – leads me to suspect that this was actually the first of the third to be released, that maybe they’ve had a different Peanuts book each month this year.

Oh, hey, with the right search terms, I find this page that confirms it! The same site confirms that World Famous Snoopy was last month’s book. So the question remains – does this run end at 3 books, or is there another coming next month?

Bill commented on the ad for Peanuts videos that was included in the All About Me packet, which included an image of a different cover for the He’s Your Dog, Charlie Brown than the one we’re used to seeing. My copies of Favorite Things had an ad sheet with a picture of It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown with text exhorting you to “bring home your favorite Peanuts Easter special on DVD”, as if there was a series of such specials of which one might be the favorite. It’s not like I’m going to rush out and get Some Day You’ll Find Eggs, Charlie Brown or He’s a Bunny, Charlie Brown.

RECOMMENDED: Goodness and Good Grief!

I somewhat slough off a lot of Peanuts books aimed at children. I can appreciate that the people making them are doing good work, but at the same time feel that a properly formatted book of the actual comic strips would actually serve the kid better. But then, I’m a …
