Amazon has finally made it possible to make a gift of Kindle books to your friends – and that means not just friends who own Kindles, but also those who are reading Kindle books on their iPads, their PCs, their smartphones.
With that in mind, I’ve decided to slash the price of the Kindle edition of Schulz’s Youth – the collection of Schulz’s cartoons for Christian youth magazines (as well as the cartoons about young kids he did for the book Two-by-Fours) – to just $4.99 for the holidays. This is half what we were charging yesterday, and a third of what the paperback runs. I don’t know if this material will be well visible on a smartphone, but I’ve seen it on a Kindle and it looks sweet, and it should look fine on an iPad.
So, if you have a friend with a Kindle or the free Kindle app on their iPad, you can give them a nice gift without any wrapping or shipping – just head over to the Amazon page and click the Give as a Gift button.
And hey, if you’re lucky enough to find a Kindle in your stocking this Christmas, you can take advantage of this bargain and make Schulz’s Youth one of the first books you load up. I’ll be keeping the price down at least through Christmas Day.
(Of course, you can also give the Kindle itself as a gift. They have a basic model which can download anywhere that it can hook up to wi-fi for $139, or the better model that can download anywhere it gets cell phone reception or wi-fi for $189.)
