This year’s airings of Great Pumpkin

If there seems tobe a lot of AAUGH Blog entries these days, there’s good reason. Part of it, of course, is my new book, so please forgive me if I’m a proud poppa and post about it a fair bit. But the other part isthat we’re getting into Peanuts Season, that Great Pumpkin-through-A Charlie Brown Christmas corridor of time when there’s more Peanutsy goodness about than normal.

To get things really going this year, ABC is offering a double-dose of Great Pumpkinocity (I was going to say “Great Pumpkinness”, but that sounds like a controversial assignment of gender to the supernatural sincerity-seeker). Peanuts video expert Scott McGuire points out that they’ll air it on Thursday the 28th at 8 PM in most markets, unedited (using an edited version of You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown to round out the hour) – and then repeat the same hour of TV at the same time the next night!
