If you re-collect the 1960s, you weren’t really there

With Woodstock-the-bird serving as the mascot for Woodstock-the-music-festival, the folks at Warners thought it was a good time for a release of a boxed set of the 1960s Peanuts specials.

The bad news is that this overlaps with specials that were already released on DVD. The good news is that it does offer some specials that haven’t been on DVD. The full line-up is:

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
  • Charlie Brown’s All-Stars (first time on DVD)
  • It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
  • You’re in Love, Charlie Brown
  • He’s Your Dog, Charlie Brown (first time on DVD)
  • It was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown (first time on DVD)
  • …plus, a documentary featurette on composer Vince Guaraldi

And the better news is that the price ain’t bad. You can preorder now for $18.99, which is a good deal for a two-disk, six-special set. The set ships in July.

Edited for correction; All-Stars has actually been on DVD before.
