minor newsy bits

  • The upcoming new book edition of A Charlie Brown Christmas now has a cover. Some day, I’ll really have to do a chart of all the formats and editions that have come out under this title…
  • Speaking of A Charlie Brown Christmas book – the huge discount available on the recent board book version has gotten even huger. At the moment, it’s 64% off the cover price… plus it’s part of the buy-3-get-1 free deal. That means you can get four copies of this $7.95-cover-price book for $8.58.
  • Also available at heavy discount (56% off) and part of the buy-3-get-1 deal is the miniature edition of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, which makes a great Thanksgiving stocking stuffer. I mean, what else are you going to stuff in a Thanksgiving stocking? Besides stuffing, of course…

  • As suspected, the collection of the little square pictures-and-adages books under a single cover is now showing up under the title Peanuts: A Treasury of Happiness instead of the cumbersome The Peanuts Classics Treasury: The Complete “Happiness Is” Collection used earlier.
  • I wonder whether the Peanuts Sudoku Digest, that mix of Peanuts strips and puzzles which has been pushed back to an April release, will actually ship with the currently-depicted cover… one which doesn’t include the “M.” as in the usual credit for “Charles M. Schulz”.

In January, the book How to Draw Peanuts for Kids: Create Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, and the Gang will hit us, turning all kids into microSchulzes. I don’t yet know who is developing it — the author is listed as Charles M. Schulz, but the text of the blurb says merely …
