Completely Peanuts? Completely foreign to me!

In the wake of last night’s post about foreign language edition of The Complete Peanuts, I got a reader inquiry about “hey, is it going to be available in thus-and-such a language?” (Hi, Dan!) And so, to head off getting that inquiry one at a time for every possible language, I thought I’d ask my inside man at the Fantagraphics skunk works (yes, that’s a Li’l Abner reference rather than Peanuts; I have a broad array of knowledge!) and find out the truth. He noted these foreign publishers had picked up rights:

  • Carlsen Verlag in Germany
  • Dargaud in France
  • Panini in Italy
  • Edicoes Afrontamento in Portugal
  • Editorial Planeta De Agostini in Spain
  • Yuan Liou in Hong Kong & Taiwan

He also made mention of a Korean edition, but did not note the publisher.

So if you want to collect them in every language, you better start clearing some room on your credit card!
