First look: Complete Peanuts v. 6 cover

Here’s a first look at the cover for Complete Peanuts: 1961-1962. This is the volume that comes out in October, and it’s got an intro by G. B. Trudeau, creator of Doonesbury. Before that, of course, is The Complete Peanuts: 1959-1960, which ships in May, with an intro by Whoopi Goldberg. Both can be preordered now, of course.

And as long as I have you here, I may as well point out a bargain: at the moment, volume 1 of The Complete Dennis the Menace is at 60% off. This brings the price of this nicely thick hardcover to under $10 – frankly, to significantly less than stores generally pay for it. I’m not sure how long this price will be in effect. (If you’re looking for something to pair it with to reach that $25 needed for free US shipping, perhaps you want to order Volume 2 at the same time. It’s “only” 34% off… although they might hold off shipping volume 1 until volume 2 is available if you do this.)

Charlie Brown’s America goes soft

Coming in December is a paperback edition of Blake Scott Bell’sĀ Charlie Brown’s America: The Popular Politics of Peanuts. I reviewed the hardcover when it came out in 2021, and that positive recommendation still stands. Share the news!
