Peanuts goes all graphic novelly on us

As I noted earlier, comics publisher Boom! had announced that they would have some Peanuts material as part of their new Kaboom imprint… and it’s happening quicker than one might have expected. They just announced that they’ll have a graphic novel adaptation of the new direct-to-DVD special Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown out next month. As in, during the month which starts tomorrow.

Happiness is a Warm Blanket cover

Which, let me tell you, is odd. Because in the book world, one is generally expected to announce books about six months in advance, so that bookstores can order them. In the comic book world, the lead time is shorter, but orders for books coming out next month were due over a month ago. So I’m still not quite sure how they’re getting it out next month. (Please note that this is not the same as the already-shipping book adaptation. This one will cost a bit more – $19.99)

I will let you know ordering information when I have it. For now, here’s the cover and a few pages from the interior of this, which are clearly going back to the strip source material that the special is derived from.
