Is there such a thing as “too many Peanuts books”? NO!

It’s book solicitation season, and in particular it’s time for publishers that will be hitting for a period that not only reflects “books being issued for Christmas buying” but also “books surrounding The Peanuts Movie” and possibly “books celebrating the 50th anniversary of  A Charlie Brown Christmas“. While we’ve seen few …

Those of you who have carefully memorized all the AAUGH Blog entries know what’s coming when you see a title like “The happiest post of the year”, and yes, it’s true. The news is good. There is going to be a book adaptation of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Admittedly, this is …

Peanuts movie books and storybooks a-comin’!

As I’ve mentioned before, these big animated kid movies tend to be accompanied by a bunch of book tie-ins… and now that this fall’s solicitations are coming through, there looks to be a reasonable amount of Peanuts product in that regard. Often, the books are adaptations of a portion of …

Reworking Peanuts from right to left

I knew the package that arrived today was going to make me very happy, but I wasn’t prepared for just how happy it would. The extreme happiness wasn’t just because it was Peanuts coloring books in Arabic, a language that previously didn’t have any place in the AAUGH.com Reference Library. …

A Boy Named Charlie Brown songwriter passes

The media is reporting that Rod McKuen has died at 81. A popular poet during the 1960s and 1970s, McKuen’s relevancy to the Peanuts world is that he wrote several songs for the film A Boy Named Charlie Brown, including the title track which earned an Oscar nomination.
