Looks like Hallmark will be offering a new book edition of A Charlie Brown Christmas yet again this year. A Charlie Brown Christmas: An Interactive Story Experience comes bundled with “a plush Snoopy that shivers, hums and laughs along with the story”… apparently, there is communication between the book and the stuffed animal, so when you push the sound buttons, Snoopy reacts. And this bit of tech will set you back… $62.99. It’s like the execs sat around and said “if we put out a book and a stuffed figure and charged a lot of money for it, would anyone actually spend that much on it?” and the wisest of the execs said “yes, Nat would”, so they did.

Is this a new adaptation, or just a reworking of an existing one. Going by the cover art, I’m guessing it’s a bit of both, as this is the cover that ran on Hallmark’s upscale 2021 edition.

So they’re not reinventing the wheel in terms of design, but it’s no just slamming on the old art either. Anyway, we shall see, because yes, of course I’ll be getting this once it’s released.
