It’s the Great Pumpkin and Flashlight, CB

Animated Peanuts

Halloween is just around the corner, but I’m already seeing books coming for next halloween… namely, a board book adaptation of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. This is being published as part of the PI Kids line, which focuses on “interactive” books, and they’re doing this one like they did the earlier Snoopy Goes to Space: with sound buttons built not into the book, but into an accompanying flashlight which can also be used to reflect off of foil that is built into the images.

The cover shown here is not final… at least, I hope it’s not, because it literally has the words COVER NOT FINAL stamped across it, which would make a very bad final cover design.

This adaptation is being offered in two formats — an 11 inch square version, and a smaller version that comes in a box. While I’ve provided Amazon links for both, I’d be at least a little cautious ordering through Amazon – they have some track record of not actually shipping the PI Kids material that they list. (The books are distributed in a different way from most books, making that at least somewhat understandable.)

Gilded Age Peanuts

There are many products generated as Peanuts “collectibles”. There have even been some special editions of books that would qualify, such as those leatherbound Easton Press editions. Still, I think the upcoming board book edition of It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown is pushing the line a bit. The publisher …

Crafty Peanuts books

A couple of craft-ish new books popped up on the horizon. Coming next June is a revised and expanded edition of Peanuts Cross-Stitch; where the old one had 16 patterns, this one comes with a whopping 24. At least, I assume that’s whopping. I don’t really spend time with craft books. …
