Call the Legal Beagle!

New releases

Today in “boy, that sure doesn’t look licensed!”, we have some new Kindle books that have shown up at Amazon. That’s right, for a mere $3.99, you can download Special Funny Peanut: Collection 1 – New Peanuts Snoopy Comic Cartoon For Kids Children by the great creator of Peanuts, Celia D Lennon.

What’s inside? Well, after the title page from one of the AMP Comics for Kids reprint volumes, you get the contents of Unseen Peanuts, which was a Free Comic Book Day giveaway a few years back, followed by the Peanuts Friends Forever 2016 Special comic book, followed by the The Beagle Has Landed graphic novel. And that’s just what I could see in the free sample. All in all, you get 900 pages of material in a file that’s a quarter gigabyte large. And that’s just one of the seven “Special Funny Peanut” books that the obviously talented Ms. Lennon has created.

Now, these Kindle books are not to be confused with the Daily Peanut Ultimate: Collection series by the master Peanutscrafter Dolores J Douglas. These reprint the Fantagraphics Complete Peanuts collections.

When I think about the fights that I had to go through to get some of the books I did have rights to up as Kindle editions, it’s frustrating to see dreck like this happen.

It briefly tells you that Charlie …
