Netflix has released the second season of its holiday baking competition show Sugar Rush Christmas, and the first episode focuses on creating desserts built around A Charlie Brown Christmas. There’s some very delicious-looking stuff being made, and some enthusiasm for Peanuts being brought into play. There are a couple of minor cringy things for the serious Peanuts fan, like a reference to a “safety blanket”… and then there’s the basic problem that competitive Christmas is something that A Charlie Brown Christmas comes out fairly firmly against. But it was still a fun watch and left me wanting to reach into the screen and grab a piece of many of the concoctions.
