Plate Expectations

It was on a trip to Las Vegas where I first ran into parking ticketing machines that actually read your license plate as you drove in, and printed the license number on your ticket. Now, as you may recall, my license plate has a picture of Snoopy and the word AUGH on it – the Snoopy plate is part of a California program where I pay some extra money that goes to support museums. But the first time I got that ticket with AUGH on it, I just grinned big.

But this ticket that I got when I parked at Los Angeles International Airport this weekend, well, that was a real surprise.
