Ware words

We have an announced date for the Kindle edition of the forthcoming essay books The Peanuts Papers: Charlie Brown, Snoopy & the Gang, and the Meaning of Life: A Library of America Special Publication (any title that has two colons in it must be good!), and that’s October 15 of this year, so I reckon that the print edition will be dated similarly. The description there gives us one more name that we didn’t already have in the previous announcement: cartoonist Chris Ware, acclaimed creator of Acme Novelty Library. (Oh, and also of Floyd Farland, Citizen of the Future, but that’s the obscure piece for those of us who were buying comics back when no one knew who Chris was.)

A couple of craft-ish new books popped up on the horizon. Coming next June is a revised and expanded edition of Peanuts Cross-Stitch; where the old one had 16 patterns, this one comes with a whopping 24. At least, I assume that’s whopping. I don’t really spend time with craft books. …
