Civic Peanuts: Erecting and Electing

Out in Needles, California, they’ve gotten licensing approval to put up a statue of Spike, Snoopy’s brother and the town’s most famous resident, in front of their new Chamber Of Commerce.

But that’s nothing compared to what they may be putting up in Tennessee, where the Democratic nominee for governor is, believe it or not, Charlie Brown. Now this Charlie Brown is a little-known retired construction worker, and frankly it is quite unlikely he’ll win (to show you how red the state is, note that even the Dem candidate is running on a platform of gun rights and more Bible in school.) But I bet there’s a few Peanuts fans in the state who, regardless of their political beliefs, are grabbing up whatever campaign pins and yard signs they can!
