Schulz writes another posthumous cookbook

About a year-and-a-half ago, I was discussing the rather unlikely book listing for a then-upcoming book on barbecue, supposedly written by the late great Charles M. Schulz himself. Well, it seems as if Sparky is at it again… at least if this link that eagle-eyed AAUGH Blog reader Scott sent to me is to be believed. Alibris lists The Soup Sisters Cookbook as written by Schulz, Charles M.!

This is obviously just a bit of mistaken data entry made by a used bookstore or some data propagation error  (neither the publisher’s listing nor the Amazon listing for the book has any mention of Schulz.) But it did have me looking a little more into the barbecue book, and finding that the situation is both more convoluted and more understandable than I found at the time. The title that was generated (Celebrating America: The Ultimate Guide to America’s 4 Regional Styles of ‘Cue is a combination of two books – the previously identified Dotty Griffith’s Celebrating Barbecue: The Ultimate Guide to America’s 4 Regional Styles of ‘Cue, and a book I didn’t notice: Celebrating America, a cookbook by Phillip Stephen Schulz. The Amazon listing for used copies of that later book now includes both the muddled name and the credit for the wrong Schulz.

Nothing like modern information technology when it comes to building error on error!
