Preordering the Peanuts comic book

Comic book stores will now have the catalog from which they can preorder issue #0 of the new Peanuts comic being published by the Kaboom line. Please realize that many comic book stores won’t order any copies unless they get requests (many stores are better described as “superhero stores” than “comic book store”.)

If you don’t know where to find your local comic shop, you can look it up at the Comic Shop Locator Service.

Tell the store that you want Peanuts #0, that they can find it on page 261 of Previews, and that its order number is SEP11 0913 (probably easiest to print out this message and take it.) And tell them that Nat Gertler of About Comics sent you; I can always use the good buzz.

While you’re there, you may be able to set up a pull order, so they’ll save one copy of every new Peanuts comic for you. And hey, look around and see what else they have. Plenty of good comics to be had these days!

If you don’t have a local shop, you can preorder it from online stores likeWestfield Comics … but prepared for shipping costs that will add a lot to that buck. (They’re handy services if you want to buy a lot of comics but don’t have a nearby shop.)

I wish it was coming out before Halloween – then I might’ve bought a few hundred to give the trick-o-treaters. Instead… rocks!

Charles Schulz – The Comic Book

It wasn’t that long ago that we had no comics-format biographies of Charles M. Schulz. Now we have the manga biography and the series-of-strips biography (ooh, steeply discounted at the moment)… and coming December, we have just a basic comic book biography. Tribute: Charles M. Schulz is from Tidal Wave, …

Not Peanuts, but not utterly not Peanuts
