a new edition of Young Pillars

I note that a new edition of Young Pillars, the first collection of Schulz’s single panel cartoons for Youth magazine, has popped up on Amazon. Judging by the fact that it had no pre-order listing, that it has no cover image, that it has an odd price ($36.49), and that the same publisher (“Literary Licensing, LLC”) added a bunch of similar books on the same day, I strongly suspect that this is a quick scan-and-reprint print-on-demand book being offered by a publisher who believes the work to be in the public domain.

Of course, for less than half that price, you can get Schulz’s Youth, which has all of the cartoons from Young Pillars… and all the cartoons from Teen-ager is Not a Disease, and What was Bugging Ol’ Pharaoh?  and Two-by-Fours, and dozens more besides, made under license from the material’s original publisher. But as the publisher of Schulz’s Youth, I am biased…
