Peanuts books to buy, and a free one

Upcoming releases

We’ve got a few more books listed as coming up later this year. There’s no surprise that we’re getting the paperback edition of The Complete Peanuts 1993-1994, and with it, the box set of 1991-1994. After all, these have been coming out like clockwork, and 2025 should bring us the final two volumes. But it’s only a slight bit of a surprise that we’re getting the Chef Snoopy Cookbook, published by WeldonOwen, as it’s the fourth Peanuts cookbook they offered. At this point, only ebook listings are showing up; I won’t assume that a physical book is on the way as well, but it seems rather likely.

Here’s the cover for Love is Everywhere, Snoopy!, which ships in December so you have it in time for Valentine’s Day, 2025.

And if you want some free Peanuts, you will have your chance at Free Comic Book Day, which is the first Saturday in May. Comic shops will be getting in lots of comics to give out to anyone who shows up — some will only let you take one or two, others will let you leave with a pile of different comics. Among the freebies being offered this year is Snoopy: Beagle Scout Adventures, which is a selection from the forthcoming strip collection of the same name. Not every shop will have this book — it’s not one of the “required” books — but a fair portion should have it. And hey, while you’re at the comic shop getting free stuff, buy yourself something! Today’s comic shops have a lot of interesting stuff.

An unauthorized? biography

In the past, I’ve talked about the Charles Schulz biographies that are produced as part of bulk lines of biographies for school libraries, very brief, photo-heavy things meant to give kids something to write book reports about. Well ABDO, a company that has produced just such a biography in the …
