Thus begins the Kindle book Snoopy’s Memoirs: It Was a Dark and Stormy Night, headed right in to a world in which psychiatrists go through their day-to-day life in lab coats with their name and career written on them.

Why do I suspect this not to be licensed? I mean, besides the fact that it is full of stuff that would never be in a Peanuts product like Charlie Brown’s parents, is peppered with references but follows none of the strip’s history, and has punctuation problems? Surely, the fact that it uses a Schulz image of Snoopy on the cover means it must be licensed, right?

It’s the author. You just can’t trust anything officially written by “Snoopy Beagle”
