Snoopy’s Book Café

Peanuts collector Lisa, who had been showing all her finds from a recent trip to Japan, started showing off one of the Re-Ment sets of little kits that combine to make a diorama. They do lovely work, but Peanuts statuary is not what I collect, and besides, these are Japanese items that aren’t that cheap to get there (you have to buy several boxes to get a complete set… and as they are blind boxes, if you buy them one by one you end up with a lot of doubles before completion.) But this particular set was something that was actually something that I, as a Peanuts book collector would want.

Snoopy’s Book Café consists of eight sets that combine to make, well, a book cafe, with Snoopy and Woodstock surrounded by books… specifically mostly Peanuts books (little plastic “books” you have to put a sticker on.) My set hasn’t arrived yet – it may take a month and a half to get here. I was going to hold off talking about this until I could show you pictures, but hten I realized that there are other Peanuts book collectors who might want this if they found out about it. and it’s ony going to get harder to find one as time passes. I paid about $85, postage included, for the complete set on eBay.
