Joyce Doty, 1926-2022

Monte Schulz is reporting the death of his mother, Joyce Doty, at the age of 95, following treatment for a fracture. Joyce was Charles Schulz’s first wife and mother to his kids. She was married to him while he built his cartooning career and as Peanuts became a transmedia international success. After their divorce in 1973, Joyce married Ed Doty, who had been the key contractor in building the Redwood Empire Ice Arena (“Snoopy’s Home Ice”.) Ed predeceased her.  She is survived by her children Meredith, Monte, Craig, Amy, and Jill, as well as many in further generations.
