Prime time to buy prime

If the word going around yesterday is correct, at the time you read this, you’ll be able to order Amazon Prime service for a year for $72, which is $27 off the usual price. I’ve been using this service for a couple years, and it’s worth it to me. It means free shipping in most cases without having to find $35 stuff to order… and the stuff gets here in two days. That’s particularly handy when sending things to other people, but it also works out to make sure I get the new Peanuts books in a timely fashion (I preorder them, and they’re shipped at the first available date). And there’s a video service subscription, which we use mainly for ad-free shows for the kids (although we did also take in the occasional movie, and I’m a fan of Alpha House, the original Amazon-only sitcom written by Doonesbury creator G. B. Trudeau.) We’ve made a little use of the free music streaming, haven’t made any use of the free photo storage (probably won’t use that, don’t see much point in backing photos up to space I’m only renting) or Kindle book lending library (yet).

So if you’ve been thinking about it, today is the best time to buy in a looong while. Click that link above to do so.

Peanuts Schultz

A little investigation told us why the character had that name which would echo oddly to …
