I’ve been getting both questions and answers in my email… and since the questions are ones that I can answer, it’s a win all around!

  • AAUGH Blog reader Jim went above and beyond the call of duty in answering the question about whether the reprints of of Peanuts and More Peanuts would actually be available in the US. He got the info straight from publisher Titan – and the answer is yes, the listing of them being available in the US is legitimate. Order away!
  • For those who have been wondering how they might lay hands on The Big Book of Peanuts volumes if they dont have access to a Costco, reader Sandra noted that third-party sellers are now selling  copies of the first volume, collecting all the daily strips from the 1970s. They’re charging about twice what Costco charges, which is understandable – they’re presumably buying copies at Costco. But some of them are available with free shipping for Amazon Prime subscribers. (These beasts are heavy – Amazon lists them at just under 5 pounds, and they feel heavier than that – so shipping may not be cheap.)
  • For those of you who want to ship these books, or get a friend to ship these books to you, i recommend getting a Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box. You can fit up to three of these books in and ship them anywhere in the US for about $18.

His bark is worse than his bite

This year’s new Hallmark book for the upcoming Great Pumpkin holiday is Beware the Vampire Beagle! Like other recent such books, it has a single pop-up image in the back. I’ve not yet gotten one, but given that it’s got Rich LaPierre art, it’ll at least look good. 40 SHARES …

The real Linus’s real cartooning

Like many Peanuts fans, I knew that the character of Linus was named after Linus Maurer, who worked at Art Instruction alongside Schulz. Like seemingly fewer fans, I knew that Maurer himself had been a syndicated cartoonist… but for some reason I never saw any of his strip before today. …
