A book! An A Charlie Brown Christmas Book!

I admit, I was fretting about it. It was once again looking like it would be a year without a new book edition of A Charlie Brown Christmas. There were none coming through the regular book channels. We have avoided this disaster narrowly at times, with a Hallmark-only book, or something available only through the club stores.

This time, I’m saved by your local fabric shop.

This year’s new edition (possibly not the only one, Hallmark doesn’t have their Christmas specials up yet) is a make-it-yourself cloth book, a fabric panel with everything you must cut out and sew together to make a book adaptation of A Charlie Brown Christmas. The art is from the adaptation that Running Press has been recycling for years.

Normally, I wouldn’t make this post until I had a copy in my own orange chicken-stained hands, but at the moment, Joanne’s Fabrics’ website has this on sale, for about eight bucks. I wouldn’t want you to miss that deal. (Make sure you see the coupon code at the top of the page that brings down the shipping price to $1.99.)

This makes it 10 straight years that there’s been at least 1 new adaptation edition. (If you want to see every edition I’ve been able to dig up, go here.) But next year I’m not at all worried about there being something; it will be the 50th anniversary of that TV special, after all.
