Speaking of the Artist’s Edition

I had missed that IDW was showing around this sample page of the upcoming Peanuts Artist’s Edition, which reproduces strips directly from the original art. While doing this for a typical comic book story is quite straightforward, allowing one to create pages that are the size of the original art, it’s tricker with Peanuts, both because the dimensions of the original strips make it harder to make a book out of it, and because those dimensions varied some over the years. By dropping it on a background, as seen here, it looks a little less like a bunch of original art bound together, but should hold together nicely as a book. (Click on the image to see it much larger.)
