The good news is that Andrews & McMeel is getting back into the Peanuts book business, starting a line of strip reprints aimed at middle schoolers. The bad news – and it’s only bad news for one person (me) – is that their first book uses as a cover image an image that I had been using as the cover for a Peanuts book I’ve pitched around a few times and still had hopes of bringing to publication. (Added later for clarification: not the exact same picture… but still, Snoopy on surfboard with the Cowabunga thought balloon.) Snoopy: Cowabunga! is a full-color 224 page paperback with pull-out poster, and it arrives in September, but can be preordered now.
