A lot of that effort has been
being put into IT’S ONLY A GAME, the collection of
Schulz’s never-before-in-a-book series of sports cartoons.
Now this is a book that I can’t review impartially — I’m
the publisher on it, so I have a strong vested interest.
But I think that Schulz collabortor Jim Sasseville, editor
Derrick Bang, and I have put together a volume here that
any real Schulz fan will want to read. So I’ve been putting
together review copies, issuing press releases, doing
whatever it takes to get the word out.

The book will be released in November. If you want to place
your order now, you can:
http://AAUGH.com/to.htm?0971633894
At the moment, this already affordable volume is available
at a nice discount.
==============================================================
WHO’S ON FIRST, CHARLIE BROWN?

The book WHO’S ON FIRST, CHARLIE BROWN is a nice, thick
book made up solely of baseball strips. It’s not the
first baseball themed collection — there are a number of
them in Peanuts book history, such as Sandlot Peanuts,
Big League Peanuts, and Insights From The Outfield.
However, the selection here is good and generous (although
not, as some might have wanted, a complete collection of
every baseball strip Schulz ever did.) At 272 pages, this
is a big book, much the same format as Ballantine’s recent
by-the-year strip collections, but signficiantly thicker
(and not that much harder on the wallet.)

The strips are all printed in black and white. There is
some color printing used, but it’s used for page decoration,
which is frankly sometimes distracting, but only minorly.
The strips are taken from 48 different years, making it
a fairly broad overview.

With an intro by Cal Ripkin Jr. (that a well-known baseball
player for those of you who don’t follow the American
sports scene), this is a nice package which would make a
good gift for folks who like both baseball and Peanuts.
http://AAUGH.com/to.htm?0345464125
==============================================================
YOU HIT THE BALL WITH THE STICK…

Following up on the baseball book, Ballantine has announced
IT’S PAR FOR THE COURSE, CHARLIE BROWN, a hardcover collection
of golf-oriented strips which is scheduled for March. You can
take a look at the cover and even preorder it here:
http://AAUGH.com/to.htm?034546415X
==============================================================
LESS GOLDEN GOLDEN CELEBRATION

And while you’re looking at covers, you can take a look at the
cover for the paperback edition of PEANUTS: A GOLDEN CELEBRATION,
the fiftieth anniversary volume that was released five years
ago. This softcover edition with a cover that looks a bit like
a fourth grade textbook ships in March:
http://AAUGH.com/to.htm?0060766603
==============================================================
BOOKS NOW AVAILABLE

Books that have recently started shipping include
PEANUTS: A POP-UP CELEBRATION (a pop-up book)
http://AAUGH.com/to.htm?0689854536
I WANT A DOG FOR CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN (adapting the
animated special)
http://AAUGH.com/to.htm?0689868863
THE GREAT PUMPKIN STRIKES AGAIN (a kids storybook)
http://AAUGH.com/to.htm?0689873395
==============================================================
I’m sorry if this newsletter seems a bit abrupt.
