CHARLIE BROWN’S THANKSGIVING IS A WEEK EARLY<\/p>\n
In the U.S., this year’s airing of A CHARLIE BROWN
\nTHANKSGIVING come on Thursday, November 21st (that’s
\ntomorrow for those of you who read your email as it
\narrives, or a couple days ago for those of you who
\nwait until the weekend to catch up on email.) It
\nairs on your local ABC affiliate. This is a special
\nthat spent too many years not being aired, so it’s
\ngood to see ABC taking care of it. And speaking of
\nABC taking care of things…

\nNEW CHRISTMAS CARTOONS<\/p>\n
ABC will air the full-length version of A CHARLIE
\nBROWN CHRISTMAS once again this year. With ads,
\nthat special comes to more than a half an hour.
\nLast year, ABC rounded out the hour with a short
\ndocumentary. Rather than repeating that, ABC is
\nadding 5 short animated vignettes, each featuring
\na different Peanuts character, and each based on
\nSchulz strips. So even if you’ve seen the special
\nendless times, even if you own the video tape or
\nDVD, you’ll want to see it this year. It airs
\nDecember 8th!<\/p>\n

\nPEANUTS GAME INSTRUCTIONS<\/p>\n
For those of you who want to see every possible printed
\nPeanuts item, here’s a minor find: Hasbro has the
\ninstructions to various Peanuts-releated games and toys
\nonline. This includes not only Hasbro product, but also
\nproducts by companies now owned by Hasbro, such as
\nMilton Bradley and Tiger Electronics. Here are links

\nSHOPPING SEASON STARTS EARLY<\/p>\n
Within the next couple days, I should have a page of
\ngift suggestions up at http:\/\/AAUGH.com . While it
\nmay seem like the holiday shopping blitz starts earlier
\nevery year, this year there really is a reason. Due
\nto the difference between the 12 month calendar which
\nmost of us use and the Hebrew calendar (which includes
\nleap *months* some years!), Hannukah has a habit of
\nbouncing all around the season. This year it starts
\nparticulary early, November 30th. So don’t be mad if
\npeople are pushing gifts early — and those of you
\nbuying Hannukah presents had better get cracking!

\nNEW PEANUTS ITEMS FOR BABY AND KIDS ROOMS<\/p>\n

Well, that’s the news for now. Things are pretty
\nquiet on the Peanuts book front, with fewer new
\nbooks being announced than had been the case for
\nthe past couple years. Various things seem to be
\nwinding down — as mentioned last newsletter,
\nBallantine has announced the last of their
\nsequential strip reprint books. Meanwhile, Little
\nSimon has not announced any further animated
\nadaptations. But there is always more news to come.<\/p>\n
There are a few interesting published items
\ncurrently coming my way via the postal system.
\nWith luck, by next newsletter I’ll be able to
\ntell you about some of them.<\/p>\n
