This year, it&#8217;s themed &#8220;All Things Armstrong&#8221;, and will focus both on Franklin Armstrong (a name he was only given in animated materials, but that&#8217;s good enough for me) and The Armstrong Project, which is the Peanuts team&#8217;s support efforts at historically Black colleges. They&#8217;ll be showing a short film of <em>JumpStart<\/em> cartoonist Robb Armstrong (for whom Franklin was given his last name) talking to Harriet Glickman (the woman who encouraged Schulz to add a Black character to the strip.) I saw a preview of this short at Harriet&#8217;s memorial, and it was nice.<\/p>\n<p>The products available there will include the standard Super7 action figure of Franklin, and a couple of exclusive items: a Franklin pin, and a Franklin-and-Charlie Brown beach towel.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6828\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6828\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Franklin-Pin.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6828\" src=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Franklin-Pin-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6828\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">the pin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The pop-up will be at 200 J. Street,\u00a0open Thursday, July 21 \u2013 Sunday, July 24 from 10am-6pm daily.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be two panels at the location, \u201cAn Evening with Robb Armstrong\u201d on Thursday, July 21 at 7pm, and \u201cTalking Iconic Black Comic Characters\u201d on Friday, July 22 at 7pm.
