Now, this shouldn’t be confused with the books of the same name in the Peanuts Parade and Peanuts Classics lines; the ongoing shortage of Peanuts book titles continues to plague us.

This was originally announced as Linus: I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo!, which goes along with the general naming scheme of the line (only one of the previous nine books did not have a character’s name above the standard title.) But not only is Linus’s name not on the front cover, the character isn’t recognizable on the character. His face is obscured by his wide-open mouth, and his defining striped shirt is under a jacket.

But it’s just as well, because labeling this as a Linus book is problematic. It’s got most of a year’s worth of Peanuts strips, in color. Specifically, it’s strips from 1977, and there’s some good stuff in there; if you want to see the small sized baseball team the Goose Eggs, they’re in here. But one thing that there’s not much of in here is Linus. He seems to be sparser in this batch of strips than in most.

There is a little Linus figure on the spine. There’s also a number, number 10, as this is the 10th release in the series. Which would be very handy, I suppose, to keep them in the right order on the shelf… if it wasn’t for the fact that the earlier volumes don’t have a number. This number is there just to taunt you. (Of course, fans of the Peanuts Parade series, which was the go-to series in the days before The Complete Peanuts, wasn’t numbered for the first volume… and when they eventually gave reprints of that volume a number, it wasn’t number 1.)

As with other volumes in this series, it includes a fold-out poster of the cover, and some drive-your-imagination material in the back, in this case information about helicopters.

Now shipping is I’m Not Your Sweet Babboo!, the latest in the series that was originally part of “AMP Comics for Kids”, but has shorn that group name; the Amazon listing refers to it as part of “Peanuts Kids”, which you’ll find nowhere on the cover but is somewhere on a …

"sfsi_plus_gutenberg_show_text_before_share":"
[13,9

post-4988","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-new-releases","category-reviews
["GET
