I had a feeling that I was not done with new book editions of\u00a0A Charlie Brown Christmas<\/em> this year… even though everything solicited to the book market had already come out, and Hallmark had already unveiled multiple editions. But then I was walking through Target, and I saw a new edition. Well, no one else might consider it a new edition, but I do.<\/p>\n

Now, at the left is the boxed book I bought last year, and at right is the one I just bought. And most of you are probably saying “Nat, that’s the same book, you handsome devil.” But look above the title. The one on the left has some metallic lettering saying “Deluxe 50th Anniversary Edition”, which is absent on the one on the right. In the publisher’s view, this is still the same edition (it has the same ISBN), and the book on the right is merely the third printing of it, but as it’s no longer the 50th Anniversary, they’ve altered the slipcase it comes in. \u00a0The text on the back of the slipcase has also been altered, to reflect that the show has been airing for\u00a0more than<\/em> fifty years. As such, this can no longer be the 50th Anniversary Edition, I declare it a new edition… and as I’m the only one who cares, I win!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
