And what does it have&#8230; besides lots of wonderful detail and the exquisite line work that makes Walt Kelly one of the greats? Well, if you look down left-of-center on the floor in the image, you&#8217;ll see this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/RacketyDetail.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4210\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4210\" src=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/RacketyDetail.jpg\" alt=\"RacketyDetail\" width=\"200\" height=\"369\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/RacketyDetail.jpg 200w, https:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/RacketyDetail-163x300.jpg 163w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s right, Rackety has been reading Peanuts. In fact, given the title of the book, he&#8217;s reading the first volume issued by Rinehart &amp; Co. in 1952, collecting the early strips. Ah, but wasn&#8217;t that only issued in softcover? Yeeeessssss&#8230;. but given the lack of any pictures on the cover, this looks like it&#8217;s been privately re-bound. Perhaps it&#8217;s a library copy.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d like a nice hardbound copy of the first Peanuts book! Far more than that, I&#8217;d like a nice Walt Kelly original, like this! (I&#8217;ve got a bit of an original art collection, but no Kelly.
