And thank you for dropping by!\n<\/p>\n<p>The appearance went well, and the folks at the museum were kindly and helpful. I got a chance to look at their current exhibit of original art from dialogueless Peanuts strips &#8211; some lovely material there, of course.\n<\/p>\n<p>I also got the chance to talk to Jeannie Schulz. Among other things we discussed, she showed me copies of several letters she&#8217;d gotten in relation to the whole Schulz and Peanuts biography matter &#8211; including one from one of the sources on the book, and one from <a href=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/pillos.htm\">Abraham Twerski,<\/a> who has written a number of self-help books using Peanuts strips to illustrate points. Rather than recount what those notes say, I&#8217;ll just steer you to where Jeannie had <a href=\"http:\/\/trickme.wordpress.com\/2007\/11\/10\/48-charles-m-schulz\/#comment-478\">posted them<\/a> in the comments of a blog.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, a good trip. Alas, today I learned that on the day I returned, my friend, mentor, and inspiration, comics writer Steve Gerber (creator of Howard the Duck) passed away from complications of an ongoing condition. So life is full, in ways both good and otherwise.
