Tracey is a very prolific children&#8217;s author, with lots of work on licensed character materials such as books about Lego Ninjago and\u00a0<em>Adventure Time<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?1481426060\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3536\" src=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Home-202x300.jpg\" alt=\"Home\" width=\"202\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Home-202x300.jpg 202w, https:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Home.jpg 336w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 202px) 100vw, 202px\" \/><\/a>One of her most recent releases was one that seems a rather thankless task &#8211; its <a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?1481426060\">the chapter book adaptation of the movie\u00a0<em>Home<\/em><\/a>, which is just about to be released. Why is this particularly thankless? Because while I assume she did a reasonable job of capturing the movie, the film itself is based on an excellent book aimed at about the same ages as this chapter book.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?0786849010\"><em>The True Meaning of Smekday<\/em><\/a>, by the talented Adam Rex (a former collaborator of mine and the kind of kids book crafter that, well, you can understand his work inspiring a movie) tells the tale as it was originally meant to be told. <a href=\"http:\/\/AAUGH.com\/to.htm?0786849010\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3537\" src=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/smekday-197x300.jpg\" alt=\"smekday\" width=\"197\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/smekday-197x300.jpg 197w, https:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/smekday.jpg 328w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 197px) 100vw, 197px\" \/><\/a>(And by the way, the includes having the proper name for the main alien in the story. His name is not, as the film would have you believe. &#8220;Oh&#8221;. His name is &#8220;J.
