{"id":2777,"date":"2014-02-22T14:56:30","date_gmt":"2014-02-22T22:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/?p=2777"},"modified":"2014-02-22T14:56:30","modified_gmt":"2014-02-22T22:56:30","slug":"peanuts-stamp-a-comin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aaugh.com\/wordpress\/2014\/02\/peanuts-stamp-a-comin\/","title":{"rendered":"Peanuts stamp a-comin&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to supposed-to-be-secret documents grabbed up by the Washington Post, the US Postal Service <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/federal-eye\/wp\/2014\/02\/20\/top-secret-revealed-who-and-what-will-be-on-the-next-postage-stamps\/\">has a Peanuts stamp in development for 2015.<\/a> That year has, I feel, a little extra clue to the likely content. Yes, it&#8217;s the year that the movie comes out (and the post office has seemed happy in recent years to do things in conjunction with a major release), but perhaps more important for this effort: it&#8217;s the 50th anniversary of <em>A Charlie Brown Christmas<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The good news about current first-class envelope stamps is that they are &#8220;forever&#8221; stamps, that you can buy them now and still use them to mail an envelope years from now. Those of you who bought a lot of the 34 cent Snoopy stamp in 2001 may recall what a pain it was when the price of first class postage went up to 37 cents the next year. Then again, if it is a Christmas stamp, you may feel foolish using it in July.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, those of you who want a sheet of the old Snoopy stamp should know that one can get a better deal than <a href=\"http:\/\/aaugh.com\/to.htm?B000F2M46Q\">this Amazon listing<\/a> which describes them as &#8220;George Schulz at his best&#8221;.
