The fine folks from the Schulz Museum had a booth there once again, and a lot of folks were grabbing up a t-shirt that has Snoopy posing with Earl, the dog from the comic strip Mutts. I had to miss the Peanuts panels because I was busy at my booth, selling copies of Licensable BearTM and other works. The only Peanuts book news that I grabbed there was that the boxed set of The Complete Peanuts volumes 3 and 4 will ship at the exact same time as the individual copies of volume 4.

You can now pre-order Peanuts All-Stars, next March’s strip collection

If you’ve been holding off on getting some of the Schulz museum catalogs because, well, they ain’t cheap, you may be in miserly luck. The Snoopy Store has a couple of them available on sale this month – the Tribute to Sparky collection of tribute strips is marked down to $15 (instead of the original $30) and the catalog of the Tom Everhart paintings is at $15 (instead of the museum’s $20). Plus, the shipping is a better rate and the site is better set up than the museum for handling online transactions.

Of course, the best way to buy these books is to stop by the museum, take in the sights, and get them at the gift shop on your way out!

I’d like to remind everyone yet again to be wary of items being sold as autographed by Schulz or as original Schulz sketches. My pal Mark Evanier has a piece about fake Jake Kirby art (Jack being the artist who brought the world The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, the X-Men, and many, many others) currently common on the market. I have seen extremely dubious items and provably fake signatures being sold as genuine, and would hate to see hundreds of dollars transfered from the pocket of a fan to the pocket of a fraudster.

I’m back from Comic-Con International: San Diego (me and about 100,000 other joyous geeks, egads).
